Dr. Fields

Hi, I’m Dr. Jena Fields!

Being a pediatric dentist is incredibly rewarding because I get to witness the growth and smiles of young patients year after year. Since joining Dr. Camps Pediatric Dental Center in 2001, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for second-generation patients whose parents were once patients here, continuing a legacy of trusted care. I’m proud to have been recognized as one of Washingtonian’s Top Doctors every year since 2017, and to be featured as “Best Dentist” in Bethesda Magazine and Best in Silver Spring. It has truly been an incredible honor.

My Journey Into
Pediatric Dentistry

My journey in dentistry began at the University of Michigan Dental School, where I earned my degree in 1998. I then specialized in pediatric dentistry, earning a master’s degree and certificate in 2000 from the University of Michigan. I am now a proud partner and owner of Dr. Camps Pediatric Dental Center. My goal is to build trust and create a comforting experience.

Creating Safe, Positive Visits
for Kids (and Parents!)

Visiting the dentist can sometimes be intimidating for kids and parents. That’s why I am dedicated to providing personalized care tailored to each child’s unique needs. I believe in treating the whole child, not just focusing on their dental issues. That means taking extra time to gently explain procedures, ensuring that children and their parents feel informed and comfortable throughout their visit. I always welcome parents to accompany their children during cleanings and treatments; it helps them feel more at ease. Additionally, I am part of the team at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Capital Children’s Surgery Center, where I care for children with special healthcare needs and provide comprehensive dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia.

Life Outside the Office

At home, I share my life with my husband, Dan, and our son, Max, who is also a patient at Dr. Camps Pediatric Dental Center. I have a deep passion for art and spent many summers teaching art and photography to kids at a summer camp in upstate New York. After receiving my dental degree, I returned to camp to work as a dentist in upper Michigan, providing integrated therapy for children with disabilities. Cooking has become another interest, especially as I’ve embraced the challenge of creating nutritious meals for Max, who has food and environmental allergies. This experience has heightened my awareness of the products we choose at the office and strengthened my commitment to safety during dental visits.
